I was looking around Dreamwidth last night and for some reason I decided to read more about community journals (which function the same way they did on Live Journal). And this information from the FAQ jumped out at me:
Some users choose to create closed, single-poster communities as an alternative to creating another personal journal for a specific sub-topic of their journal, since you can post to a community without having to log out of your account and log into another personal journal account.
For years I've been aware that this could be done, but I never really gave any thought to it. Until now. It hit me last night that I could use a community blog that could work as a secondary blog for my
lady_morningstar account. Why would I want this account to have a secondary account? The answer; to hold the new extended version of my fanfic that I started working on a couple of weeks ago. I see that these community journals even have a "Admin Only" viewing option, which is the same as a Private entry in a personal journal.
So instead of setting the current version of The Archer's Tale to Private and reorganizing the blog to hold the story's new version, I could just leave it up and keep it publicly readable. The extended version of the story will be posted here::
hai_resdaynia .
As I said in this entry's title, I wish I would have thought of this earlier, but I only have about sixteen entries for the extended version to move from this blog to
hai_resdaynia. It could have been a lot worse.
So to clarify:
lady_morningstar : A personal blog that holds the current version of the story and will stay as is.
hai_resdaynia : Will hold the extended version of the story, with entries being posted by
lady_morningstar.
resdaynia_wanderers : A companion community journal for my occasional OOC entries.
