In order to make the Highwood Farm house suitable for a family of four, I had to turn the bathroom into a bedroom. While I'm glad I was able to make that change, I still felt bad that this little family who values cleanliness lost the means to bathe and take care of...other matters.

When I was adding a fancy bathroom to the Gweden farm house so that guests would be more comfortable, the irony struct me that guests would have bathing matters better than the owners of the farm. So before adding my Highwood Crafting patch to my "live" load list, I made one more change; The Highwood Farm Bathhouse. Read more... )

Following the dreaded "missing husband" quest which resulted in Aeronwen having to kill a person for the first time, she's taking a couple of days off and staying at her cottage. As she was creating some more pottery items, I began wondering; how much will her crafting projects be worth after she fulfills her destiny of becoming a demi-god and helping Dagoth Ur to expose the Tribunal and pushing the Imperial invaders out of Morrowind?

I can see it now:

Random trader to random customer: "This Redware pot was created with the God Queen's own hands, using clay that she herself gathered from the Odai River."

If there is any doubt that Aeronwen is an artistic Dagoth, it should vanish when one sees how much she loves crafting in her cottage's pottery room. It's amazing that she hasn't started creating ash statues in there.

As I mentioned in this blog's previous entry, I took Aeronwen to the city of Vivec to play through a quest. Afterward she went to the Potters' Hall to use the public pottery wheel. Since I started a new game, she's been gathering clay and sand from the clay and sand bars that can be found in bodies of water around Vvardenfell and therefore had a nice amount of clay to use for crafting.

When I had her check to see what the Potters' Hall merchant had to offer I was surprised to see a pottery wheel in her inventory. I don't recall seeing one available for sale in previous games. Since it was for sale at an affordable price, Aeronwen bought it and brought it back to her shack. She's delighted that she can now create redware pieces while relaxing out on the dock.

(At the time of this screenshot the Tales & Tallows festival is taking place, which is why Aeronwen has a jack o' lantern sitting on top of the barrel)

*Sigh* Now I'm really going to have a hard time getting her to pack up and move on. The ash priests and poets who are speaking to her in her dreams by way of the ash statue by her bed are going to have to become more insistent.

And in case anyone is wondering, I'm planning to post the chapters that I've written so far for the extended version of the story this month. They will probably coincide with the dates of our world. What I mean is, Aeronwen's story begins on the 16th day of Last Seed, so that would be the 16th of August in our world.

That being said, I reserve the right to start posting the chapters before the 16th if that's what I feel like doing. ;)
