It all started when I ventured into the section of the Cyrodiil map that is between the Imperial City and Millstone Farm; the game would crash to desktop. Since this was the first time I had been to that part of the map, I had no idea how long that area had a problem, or which mod was causing it. So I began the process that many Elder Scrolls players are familiar with; checking things mod by mod.
Eventually I figured out that the issue was caused by a combination of mods (Woodland rangers and Harvest Containers), but while I was at it I decided to do some cleaning up, removing some mods that I decided I don't really need. I also decided to get rid of the the Real Thirst and Real Hunter mods and go back to Basic Primary Needs, which I like better and doesn't add so many plug ins to the list. Finally I added a new leveling mod since I prefer to just play and not worry about attribute multipliers.
What this boils down to is that my saves are now no longer viable and can no longer be loaded without crashing the game, but that's all right since my game is now cleaner. It's better to go back to "fresh out of character creation" than try to proceed and discover game breaking bugs down the road.
So...yes, Aeronwen is back at the place on the Waterfront where the game places you when you use the Alternate Beginnings mod, but again, that's okay. It's better to have things cleaned up. In fact I just went in to run a test, summoned Epona so I could move faster and went dashing around in different parts of the map. No crashing. I just have a pesky problem with "Cheap Wine" missing a mesh and appearing as those big light yellow missing mesh stars anywhere that Cheap Wine is placed in the world.
The issue was probably with Basic Primary Needs since that's one that alters the food and drink items.
