Off Topic - Little sand-sized bastards

I've been wanting to work on the next installment of the story, but just couldn't get into a creative mood due to experiencing some physical discomfort. Then last night, as I was sitting in a chair, innocently reading, it suddenly felt as though Heartwight Aeronwen (while wearing a heavy Golden Saint style guantlet) gave me a very hard punch in the right side, just below the rib cage.

I'm not sure how long that level of pain lasted. Eventually it receded and became like a hard cramp that was gradually moving down my side. First thing this morning I was off to the doctor's office.

A few hours later, following an x ray and an ultrasound; kidney stone.

Almost everyone I know has had these; my parents, my brother, my spouse, a number of my online friends. While I certainly felt bad for them, I can say now that I had no clue what those individuals were going through. Now I have joined the club and can say with first hand experience, these stones are evil little bastards!

Anyway, I'm home and on some medication that is supposed to relax and loosen the urinary tract so this sharp, crystallized lump of evil can work it's way out.

So that sums up today's real life adventure which I hope to never experience again.
