When I started my previous two-day game I had given up on including the twins that I had imagined Aeronwen and Neldor having during their time in Morrowind. Because the twins are a custom race (Bosmer Child from Emma's Children of Oblivion) the game kept crashing when I entered their starting area. But then I found some good tutorials that explained the needed extra steps to make CM Companions using a custom race, so now the twins, Cariel and Calonir, can exist in the game.
Unfortunately I ended up not feeling like playing. For those who don't know, my mother passed away on the fourth of October. Not only have I been grieving for my mother (which is bad enough) but also dealing with the loss of the entire nuclear family who I grew up with. With Mom's passing, both of my parents and both of my siblings are gone.
A couple of days ago I saw a photograph (which to be fair I wanted to see) of their headstones in the cemetery (it is too far away for me to go there in person). The sight of their names on those headstones really made me loose it. Mom and Dad are in the center, my sister buried is on my mother's side and my brother is buried on my father's side. Had I been actually standing there I might have collapsed in tears on the graves.
So...although I was ready to restart my game, I haven't felt like playing. But today has been quiet and I have started to feel a bit more settled, so I went into the game on my "right out of character creation" save and have started the process of "gathering everything and everyone", which means setting the time scale to "One Real Hour equals One Game Hour", then porting around to grab all the wigs Aeronwen and her family uses, clothing, the pet foxes, pack donkey, horses, and of course Neldor and the twins. After that they will stroll through the Imperial City to get the camping gear and a few other mod added items that enhance the game.
Once the gathering is done they will set out. Hopefully this week I'll redo the first two journal entries to include the twins. They will also be using Emma's Aleswell Cpttage as their starter home since it has more room, including a nice furnished basement with a bedroom (two twin beds), and has a master bedroom in the attic. Of course even with all that space for everyone, I imagine that during their first night there the twins will want to creep upstairs and asked their mom and dad, "Can we sleep with you?"
